The Story Builders Workshop
This writing workshop encourages children to embrace their imaginations by creating their own characters and building a narrative around them. I aim to make sessions fun and interactive and the children will have the opportunity to order a signed copy of my debut novel, 'Witchdaft' and my latest book 'Relatable Rhymes for Kids'. I provide a half-day session which can be tailored to suit your school or organisation's requirements.
Workshop Breakdown
The Story Builders Workshop is divided into three sections over the course of the morning or afternoon, starting with an introduction to storytelling. I will provide guidance and creative methods throughout the rest of the workshop, helping students form their fictional worlds.

Introduction to Storytelling
A talk with the year groups of your choice, explaining my writing journey and providing tips for budding writers. I also read a couple of chapters of 'Witchdaft' and give children the opportunity to ask any questions they have.

Character Class
The children will create their own character to spark an idea for a narrative. This character profiling can often determine where their story ends up!

Storyboard Session
With their character in mind, children will make a storyboard to create a rough guide for where their story is headed. From there, they can begin their adventure!
Pricing
The Story Builders Workshop is priced at £150 including resources, and session times can be tailored to suit your school's requirements. Prices are based on visits to UK schools - international school visits priced on request. A minimum fee of £150 is required on condensed sessions that are under 3 hours.
Travel Fee
For locations that require travel over 10 miles, a fee of £1 per mile will be charged on top of session price.
Optional extended session
(Additional fee of £150)

Chapter Challenge
Using the character they have created, children will write an introductory chapter to set the scene for the rest of their story. I will help them to immerse their readers with sensory descriptions and other writing methods.

Cover Creation
For those who thrive better through visuals, children will have the opportunity to draw a front cover for their book. At the end of the session I will invite volunteers to read their first chapter aloud and ask any final questions.
