- Stephanie Selby, Children's Book Author -

Hi! My name is Stephanie Selby and I'm a hairdresser with a journalism degree, so essentially a gossip columnist with a pair of scissors in place of a pen.

I received my journalism degree from the University of the Arts London (London College of Communication), but ultimately found that I needed an outlet for my creativity that wouldn't be restricted by the rules set by traditional journalism. So instead of going by the book, I decided to write my own.

I loved books that made me laugh when I was young, especially Awful End by Philip Ardagh and George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl. I adored the eccentricity of their characters, which inspired the creation of my own protagonists and the events that unfold in Witchdaft.

I believe it's important to find humour in life, and I've taken great pleasure in infusing it throughout my writing. Laughter is good for the soul and can bring joy even in the darkest of times.

If you'd like to book me for a school visit, book reading, or any other event, please fill out the enquiry form and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Kindly note that my availability is limited as I also work full time. I appreciate your understanding and look forward to hearing from you!
